“It’s your record. You discovered it…You love it for the feelings it conjures…
Thirty years ago some now-forgotten musicians cut that record. Without them this brilliant song wouldn’t exist. But without you – a DJ – that record would be in a bent cardboard box in a basement…
This is the thrill, and the compulsion, of DJing. This need to share music, and to constantly find new music to excite people with, this is the primal force of DJing.”

The Record Players (DJ Revolutionaries)
Ste and Terser are Cookie-Dough, a DJ partnership that began back in 2001. Their versatile sets, which incorporated everything from deep and soulful grooves to tougher jacking house beats, helped the pair gain a reputation within their home city (Liverpool). Gigs at some of the biggest club nights in the UK and abroad followed – Circus, Chibuku, Cream, Sankeys, Freak, Aztec and Garlands to name a few.
In 2006, after 4 successful years the night came to an end but Ste & Terser’s love of collecting and sharing the best records they could get their hands on didn’t. Weekly residencies at Liverpool venues such as Heebie-Jeebies and the Metropolitan provided the outlet they were looking for.
After a while their careers outside music took them to different parts of the world and life took a different direction (I think its called growing up….)
Despite all of this “once a DJ, always a DJ”, and after a long time talking about it, the Cookie Dough Radio Show Podcast became their latest project. As well as being a great way to stay in touch it is a natural progression of the Cookie-Dough partnership providing Ste & Terser the chance once again to dig deep into their record collection and share those records with anyone who will listen.
Broadcasts will be every month and will be a mixture of new and old music across various genres combined with some light-hearted ramblings.
“It’s strange how often you think about music and more importantly the need to share it with people. This is why we decided to start our monthly podcasts and how we became djs in the first place.”
Thanks for listening!
